The 2022-2023 school year marks the start of my 23rd year as an educator. My first 7 years were as an elementary school teacher in various counties throughout the state. I began my middle school teaching career at MCMS in 2005 as a 7th and 8th-grade reading teacher. The following year, I became part of the 6th-grade team. During the 2020-2021 school year, I was the 6th/7th-grade virtual ELA teacher. I am also stepping into my fourth year as the ELA lead teacher for 6th grade where I have the opportunity to work with others to build a strong ELA program. On a personal note, I've been married to my husband for almost 22 years and have one son. He was a 2020 graduate from Montgomery Central High School and is now in the Army and proudly serving his country in South Korea. I've been an Army brat and Army wife, but I am most proud to call myself an Army mom.
